Final update for a few weeks…

Emma EvansHi Everyone,

Well it’s my last update for three weeks as I’m off on my adventure to Alaska. During this time I will be handing you over to Brian, so if you have anything you want to put in the newsletter please email him.

So this tuesday we are off to Doctors Pond, Dunmow. The theme is reflections and there will be help on hand if you want to try a bit of HDR.

Next up I am pleased to announce that the winner of the photo of the month is Mark Seton, with this image; I think it’s a really striking image and will look great in the window of Photosound. Congrats Mark. If you would like one of your images to be considered for this months competition please upload them to the BSCC Flickr/Facebook page.

There has been some interest in he possibility of purchasing BSCC fleeces/sweatshirts etc. We have looked in to this and it would be entirely possible and there is a range of options. Obviously the more we get made the cheaper it will be. As a guideline, a ‘Regatta’ zip through fleece, with the BSCC logo embroidered (not transfer) would be £20. With the price dropping to approx £17 if we have 20 made. If you are interested (it’s not a commitment at this time) please let me know so I can make further enquiries.

Next up: Stephanie has a question;

“Hi everyone, I went to photograph the Shard last Friday and from my elevated position, the wind was causing the tripod to shake quite a bit. Many more photos than I’d normally expect were showing signs of blurring. Any advice would be welcome!”

If you have any advice for Stephanie, please email Brian and he can report back next week.

Finally a cheeky personal request; does anyone have any binoculars that they wouldn’t mind lending me for my trip, many many thanks in advance.

As you all know I love an outing and this weekend we headed into london to the travel photographer of the year exhibition @ the royal geographical society. Truly inspiring images, especially if you are going on a trip anytime soon. Worth the train fare.

Anyhoo enjoy the rest of August, don’t miss me too much and I will see you all at the start of the season!

Kind regards

Emma xx
