Hello from the Chair 2013-11-03

Well hello everyone,

Hope you are having a good week and have got your entries in to David ready for Round 2 of the Digitally Projected Image competition. If the quality of images are anything like those in the first round then we are in for a good night, (David tells me there are some even better ones). Malcolm Tinn is the judge and he is really good. You can see his work here. Looking forward to seeing as many of you there as possible.

Anyway onto club business:

  1. Firstly please feel free to check out this link which will take you to the EAF (East Anglian Federation) website. On here you can find details of all the events going on around the region and at other clubs.
  2. Next week (12th) we have Glyn Dewis coming to the club. He is an amazing teacher and photographer and it’s going to be a great night. We are more than happy to invite visitors to this talk and would encourage you to spread the word. We will charge a £2 visitors fee, please let me know in advance if anyone takes you up on the offer
  3. Next up: don’t forget to put the London trip in your diary; Sunday 8th December. Partners are welcome, it should be nice and festive and we always stop someere nice for lunch. Also my dad -a veritable London cabbie- always lets me know of things to see and do that most people tend to miss.
  4. So it’s time to announce the photo of the month winner; So many great images on the BSCC Flickr page this month and lots of worthy contenders but the winner is Nigel Otter’s autumnal scene. A lovely image with incredible light. Well done Nigel, it will be displayed in the window if Photosound for the month of November. Here is the image
  5. If you are interested in securing a discount from the following website: www.srb-photographic.com firstly check out the website to see if they have stuff you might like to buy. Then email Brian who will join the mailing list on your behalf as this has to be done collectively as part of the club.
  6. Finally if you haven’t yet checked out the work of club members who photographed the Contexture Theatre Group’s recent productions, they worked very hard and the results are great so please do. You can find these images on the club’s Contexture Flickr page.

So that’s it from me, all that’s left to say is that this really is your last chance (5.00pm today -Sunday) to enter the Digital Competition round 2. When I spoke to David he also said to pass on his thanks for all the good wishes.

Right, I’ve caught a nasty cold from somewhere and am absolutely full of it! so I am retiring to the sofa, See you all on Tuesday.

Emma x
