We are back!

We are really proud to announce that we are back and going online via Zoom. Each week at our usual time we are going to host a range of topics to help you improve your photography. Members of the club will be providing some sessions on:

– learning new photography techniques
– host some judging events
– review some of the work of famous photographers
– present some guest speakers

Make sure you are signed up to the newsletter for further details and links to the Zoom meetings.

Photo of the Month

Delighted to announce that Liz Happer’s photo has been selected as our photo of the month. Her image was taken in the mountains above Hanoi in Vietnam in a place called Sapa. Liz mentioned that “it was a ‘grab shot’ in the market because many of the tribal woman do not like their photos being taken – but children the world over never seem to mind”. Well done Liz. Your photo should be in the window of Photosound but obviously subject to the closure of the shop.

CLOSED for this season

Due to the Coronavirus outbreak and the governments recommendation to ‘avoid clubs’, the Bishops Stortford Camera Club is now closed for this season.

We’re Moving!

From 7th January 2020 we will be meeting at The Hub. As mentioned at the end of last season we have been forced to find a new location for our Tuesday evening meetings and with immediate effect our new venue is:

The Hub Church
Portland Rd,
Bishop’s Stortford
CM23 3SL

There is ample free parking opposite the venue at

Apton Road Car Park
Apton Rd
Bishop’s Stortford
CM23 3SN

This is a pay and display car park but is free after 18:30 every evening – you can simply park and leave your car – you don’t need to get a ticket or enter your registration number into the ticket machines. It is a minute and a half walk from the car park to the venue

If you have mobility issues there is disabled parking available for 2 vehicles on the drive up to the venue. Please do not use this unless you have a genuine mobility issue.

See new venue on Google Maps

We look forward to welcoming you to the new venue at our first meeting of the New Year on 7th January – as usual 19:45 for 20:00 start.

Auction Night

As a change to our printed programme, the Bishops Stortford Camera Club will be holding an auction this Tuesday 3rd December.

The club has received a large selection of photographic and darkroom equipment which will be auctioned off for charity

The auction is open to both members and non members alike, the more the merrier. All items must go, so there’s going to be some bargains!!

Here’s a list of the auction items.

If anyone has an item they would like to donate to the auction, please bring it along on the night. All proceeds will be going to charity
